Five Missionaries Return Home

4 Oct

With all of the excitement of new missionaries arriving to the mission, there is still the realization that some must return home.  We had five missionaries (one sister and four elders) return home this transfer.  Here are some of them waiting to meet with the President for their exit interviews.

This sister was baptized just one month ago by this returning elder.

This Kobe Ward member has known this elder since he was a baby!  She is good friends with his mother in Utah.

Look at these mother’s faces.  Think they are proud of their sons?

This group picture was taken before they all parted ways.  One elder is returning to Washington, one to Maryland, one to Utah, one to Arizona and our sister missionary is returning to Hawaii.  Sayonara dear Choro tachi and Shimai.

We truly are grateful for the service these good missionaries have given.  We love them and will miss them dearly.

Dear Sister Zinke and President Zinke,

Thank you for hosting such a beautiful farewell breakfast for us along with the departing missionaries. What a spiritually uplifting time for us to see them together and feel their special bonds. It was extraordinary to hear them open their hearts as they concluded their mission. Thank you for inviting us to take a glimpse into their world. They were so fortunate to serve and grow under two brilliant mission presidents and their amazing wives. Owen misses Japan already. Please know of our gratitude for all you have done – and continue to do.
