Christmas Taikais

29 Jan

December was a wonderful month.  We concluded it by having a few zone taikais (conferences) to unwind a bit from another wonderful year of service in the Japan Kobe Mission.  The morning was spent playing dodge ball, basketball, ping pong, and just hanging around sharing stories and memories.

There was a simple gift exchange at lunchtime, and recent birthdays were recognized.  Then the missionaries shared talents that ranged from serious opera singing to one elder demonstrating how to stuff 15 ten yen coins (like an American quarter) up his nose.  Yes, he really did do that!

We then gathered for group photos.  (One group not shown because we didn’t have time to get the photo.)

The afternoon was spent on a more serious note.  We remembered the Savior, shared a slide show of our December baptisms, and shared testimonies.  It was a fun and spiritual way to both look back on the year past and prepare for the new year ahead.
