Rice Fields

3 Jun

The rice fields have been planted!  As we have traveled throughout the mission we have seen many fields filled with water and little sprouts.  I thought that you might like to see a couple of pictures!

The rice is started in green houses and placed in the muddy fields at about this size.

It has been fascinating as we have watched the workers in the fields, along with tractors and other equipment.  It is so beautiful, although this much water, heat and humidity creates quite the mosquito breeding grounds!
