A Visit to Korea

26 Nov

Two weeks ago we had the opportunity to go to Seoul, Korea for some meetings with the Area Presidency.  While there we were able to attend the temple.  We miss the temple…there is not one in our mission so we were grateful to be able to go that day.   Isn’t it beautiful!

But what made that day even more special was that we had a visit from a mother of one of our missionaries.  We have one elder from Korea who serves in our mission.  After traveling for 1-1/2 hours his mother arrived at the temple to meet us.

Oh, Elder Lee looks so much like his mother!

It was so special for us to meet this sweet sister who had raised such a wonderful young man.   Even though we didn’t speak the same language we had no trouble communicating.  We talked and hugged and even cried a little bit, one mother to another.  We said good-bye, promising that we would meet again next year, but the next time with her son, who will have returned to Korea by then.

Good-bye dear friend…until we meet again!

I am so pleased to see this blog. My daughter opened her mission call today…Japan, Kobe, with the Zinkes.
